Plan Do Check Act?
That is the most famous definition of the acronym that is widely used as the base of any process that is written, irrespective of its domain or industry of application.
The intent of these steps has been explained in various books and sites, but here is my two cents on the same.
Plan with a PURPOSE
Do with a DECISION
Check with a COMMITMENT
Act with ASSERTIVENESS
These basic steps are the most crucial ones and these only determine how the flow of any system/process is to be.
The purpose should always be the “Fit for Purpose” aspect. The decision should target the fulfilment of the purpose. The team should have total commitment to the decision taken. The team should be assertive in ensuring that the purpose is always met.
